I'm not entirely happy with the chapter, but I will probably go back during the week to go over it with a clear head, preferably when my mind isn't half-addled by the new heat wave. 2025-06-10 17:06:00 +0000 UTCGood chapter. Jon moving the surviving Northmen into King’s Landing and giving them a portion of the city was a nice touch. Marry them to the locals and their descendants would be Crownlander/Northern, a lot like the Clawmen, and more loyal than average to Targaryen Mk II. It might also dilute the power of the Faith in Westeros’ capital. Between them and the Clawmen, Jon’s descendants might have something approaching a normal power base. And it might change the culture in King’s Landing. Arrogant lords might be picking up their teeth if the wander into the Northen section with an attitude. That kind of independence might spread. Almost like the Gascons in pre-Revolution France. No matter how poor, they were s good as any gentleman.
