DW's rewrite is finally finished, and I present to you: The Breaker's Tale! Chapters 1 to 10!

What is The Breaker's Tale? It's tossing a very old and jaded Harry Potter from a broken world into the body of a freshly dead Jon Snow in a mixed setting of book and show. Does it make sense? Probably not. Did I enjoy writing and rewriting it? Hell yes.

It's been nearly two years since I started the rewrite. I promised to do it as a side project, and I actually finished it as I said I would! I am well aware that DW is a very flawed and cracky story, but it was the story that got me into writing, and I like it a lot regardless of everything. It has a special place in my heart.

Even though I knew the name I had originally chosen was quite cringeworthy, I struggled to think of something better at the time. I didn't even know how to write; I had never written before I started, and I had no idea whether I could write something coherent or even see it through to the end.

Anyway, it's finished. The first chapters still feel weak, no matter how much I rewrite them, but they are somewhat better than before. It's not a simple rewrite either, I redid many scenes from scratch, expanded to add more PoVs, added a clearer timeline, cleaned up a few plot points and added new ones instead. Some chapters are outright new. The story is essentially the same, but the way it is told should make for a far more enjoyable experience.

That being said, this has been a far greater endeavour than I first thought, and I'm definitely not going to rewrite things from scratch ever again. This is the first and the last time.

Anyway, I'll post chapters in bulk of ten every week or two(as I go through them for one final edit)

For those who have not read it, it's a Gary-Stu story with a serious spin. The HP elements are very subtle. It also mixes the ASOIAF and GOT timelines, in a hodgepodge that should not have worked but somehow did. In hindsight, I'm very surprised the og story came out half as interesting or as popular as it did.
