Dogs in the Theratpy universe grow to about the size of wolves, and come in two subclasses: Drogs, or Doggies. A Drog is a wild dog, a Doggy is domestic. Any Drog can become a Doggy with some effort, care, and love.

Typically, Drogs are just referred to as Drogs, and only Doggies are referred to by the three existing breeds: Waggles, Winkles, and Huggers. When they are Drogs, they do not exhibit the distinct traits of their breeds. Waggle Drogs do not wag their tails, Winkle Drogs never blink and have not learned trust, and Huggers only bite and scratch.

Waggles
Waggles have two tails, that wag opposite each other. They are known for being energetic, active, and friendly. This breed gets attached most easily, and they love to play and learn new tricks.

Winkles
Winkles have one eye, which features visible lashes and an eyebrow. They are known for being watchful, attentive, and protective. They can be a bit skittish at first, but once they warm up to you, they are lifelong companions.

Huggers
Huggers have a second set of front legs, and often sit on their back legs and hug their owners. They are known for being cuddly, lovey, and faithful. They love to go on walks to stretch their legs, and are the most relaxed of the three.

Crossbreeding
Dogs can be crossbred to create Winkle Waggles, Winkle Huggers, and Waggle Huggers. And, with luck and trial & error, one can make the elusive Pickle, a Dog with the traits of all three!

Rare and difficult to breed intentionally, a Pickle is a dog with one eye, six limbs, and two tails. They are named Pickles because they couldn't pick just one or even just two! Pickles are the most difficult to train from Drog to Doggie, but are considered extremely good pets and often owned by rich rats.
