Here's all about Annie!
General
Annie is a local hairstylist! He works with the first ever MOUSE we're gonna meet!! He moved to town in the last few years with his sister Jo, and he mostly keeps to himself. He has a pet dog named Bingo, and frequents the Dog Park, and sometimes goes to the bar on weekend nights.
Annie's Sisters
Annie has three older sisters, current canon is their names are Josephine, Charlotte, and Penelope! He is the youngest of four. Josephine, usually just called Jo, is the oldest and runs a successful construction company called Jo's Rubble. Charlotte and Penelope do not live nearby; they are twins and visit sporadically, almost always at the same time. Charlotte does interior design, Penelope is a ballerina. Both are always at each other's throats, and refuse to get space from one another despite this fact. Annie has helped with a lot of conflict resolution between the two.
Getting into Cosmetology
Having three sisters, he saw a lot of hair and changing hairstyles growing up, and helped with a lot of it as well. He decided to pursue haircutting by the time college rolled around, and went for & achieved his associate's degree in Cosmetology at 20. He worked in several places that didn't pay or treat him all that well before he and Jo moved to the same town as Dr. Zo and Ratticus, and he met and was hired by the aforementioned mouse, to work in her barber shop and expand it to accept more clients.
On the name Annie
Annie is in fact a nickname! His legal name is Anderson, named after his father Ander. Growing up he greatly disliked this, and wanted to fit in with his multitude of sisters, and they obliged and started calling him Annie. It has stuck, and he does not answer to anything but Annie, and does not care in the slightest that it isn't a masculine name. In fact, he prefers it that way.
Annie's Bell
A silver bell is part of Annie's outfit every single day, either on his belt loop or around his neck. He is a quiet person and a quiet walker, and he disliked accidentally sneaking up on- and subsequently scaring- other rats and mice, especially because of his stature. Charlotte suggested he wear a bell, and now he does everywhere he goes. He also usually wears rubber boots or shoes with rubber soles to give a little squeak every time he takes a step.
On Annie's Injuries
Annie is missing the pinkie finger on his left hand, a few inches of the end of his tail, chunks out of his left ear, and has a permanent crinkle in how his whiskers grow in on his left side. He does not like to discuss any of these, and if asked, he gives a different answer each time. These answers include but are not limited to:
(of course, the classic) "You should see the other guy."
"I was in several consecutive car accidents."
"I was in several consecutive knife fights."
"If you see a really cool ad on your phone that says you can swim with sharks as a magical once-in-a-lifetime experience... don't answer it."
"Oh, wow... when did those get there?"
If he isn't in the mood to joke, he may just say, "Sorry, that's personal." or he'll ask you, "Does it bother you? I can ask (insert name of mouse barber) to finish your cut." Or if you pry several times in the same visit; "I don't ask you about your body, I'd like it if you didn't ask about mine."
Once you get to know him, as he will eventually be a datable character as well, he may open up to you if you play your cards right.
About Dr. Zo
Annie only knows him as Zo, and calls him Zoey. Dr. Zo would hate being called 'Zoey' from practically anyone else, but likes when Annie says it. Annie also sometimes uses pet names for him passively, like baby and honey, and Dr. Zo feels special even though it is just part of Annie's vernacular.
Dr. Zo never asks Annie about his injuries, which makes Annie feel very comfortable. As a therapist who has seen quite a few patients at this point, Dr. Zo has an idea of what they may be from and has no intent to pry.
Annie is not oblivious to Dr. Zo's light affections of him, meanwhile Dr. Zo is 100% oblivious to the fact that Annie would not be opposed to getting coffee with him...
Additional
Measurement of height is to the top of the head at the center, not to the ear height! This goes for mice as well, although for a while a long time ago mice coveted larger ears and they were counted in height among mouse populations. So, the height Dr. Zo is is not counting his ears! His ears go up to about 6', 6'1ish :)
I think that's all for now!!!
