While the male crew may have been focused on physical augmentation for immediate tasks, the female crewmembers probably play a critical role in helping with the continuity of the new collective, potentially incorporating reproductive and nurturing functions within the framework of the Borg’s mission to spread and perfect their kind. Their transformations would most likely prioritize traits that facilitate the growth of the collective—possibly through integrating biological reproduction into their cybernetic enhancements or serving as nodes for creating new drones.
