Dad Reacts to Radiohead - Amnesiac

Comments

Highly recommend y'all check out Japanese Breakfast! Her last album is a must listen! Even if its just in y'alls free time :) Her music is so special and I think both of y'all would really appreciate the musicality put in

Whya

I was waiting for this one ♥️

I highly recommend you guys try out the Kid Amnesiac Exhibition game on PS5 or Epic Games Store on PC. It's a wonderful experience and it's a cool blend of Kid A and Amnesiac into the video game space. The things they do with it is pretty incredible. A Livestream or video on it would be awesome, but if not I still think you guys should experience it. It's totally free as well.

heres the big one

Amnesiac has always been one of my favourite Radiohead albums. The atmosphere they created is unmatched. Kid A ‘Morning Bell’ to me is mechanical, Amnesiac “Morning Bell” is like laying in a sunspot. They’re perfectly opposite yet mirror each other and I think having both shows how technology and organic sounds juxtapose each other so perfectly. Bridges the sound journey of these albums IMO. Love listening to you pair unpack all the sounds and vibes together!

All power to you brother. When the Strokes change modern music and expand the possibilities therein, they can come back and have Radiohead hold their beer. In the meantime......

RADIOHEADS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS

There's an extended version of Life in a Glasshouse that has a longer jazzy intro that I think Kevin would like. It's on the Knives Out single. I like it more than the original.

Thanks for the reaction and I hope both of you get some better sleep soon! I appreciate the fact that you didn't try to put on a regular show despite feeling tired, and I hope you can also just take a day off sometimes without feeling guilty about it. On the topic of Amnesiac I want to mention that when Radiohead released the Kid A Mnesia reissue in 2021 they also put out a totally free digital interactive "art exhibition" that incorporates the music from Kid A and Amnesiac in some really cool ways. It's basically a video game world that you can freely explore using a controller or mouse and keyboard and each room or space you step into is an audiovisual experience containing music and related visual art of some kind. Totally worth spending a couple of hours getting lost in that world, especially since it's a free download.

Ahhh yes Peaky Blinders: The Soundtrack

I agree so much about the Morning Bell version on this record. I usually skip it or go and listen to the "real" morning bell. I can't belive people can call this a B-side project. God, Pyramid song? Not a B-side! It is in 4/4 btw, but it took us a long time to figure out that it's basically that boring, they just live all over the place. Oh, and suggestion... Why don't you guys do some Blur? ❤️ Or maybe Phoenix? Also the live recording of True Love Waits is from Oslo. I was in the audience. 😍

hey i love radiohead (look at my pfp lol) but i think the strokes debut was the album of 2001

Hey Kevin, if you liked You and Whose Army and Pyramid Song you have to go and watch Incendies made by the same director who made the new Blade Runner and Dune movie (he is also a big Radiohead Fan, and introduced me to Radiohead through the movie). It's a great movie with a good plot twist and has a great opening sequence

Simon Kasparet

A stunning album, now 22 years old! Even if you rate it as 'a below awesome Radiohead album' (should you dare), it surpasses virtually anything else from that year, by anyone. That's how visionary, how far ahead of the pack, and just how brilliantly inventive this band were and are. Kev: if you're upset you waited this long for 'Amnesiac', wait until you finally, finally, finally hear KW/JZ 'Watch The Throne'. Connor's gonna need a fuckin' bodyguard. 😂

Jon Scanlon

Please show your dad that the Lil Yachty closer to his new album is an interpolation of Pyramid song

Almag

GOD to hear Pyramid Song again for the first time 😭❤️ what an album

Andi Watson

This is really the end of an era.

Víctor Cruz Rojas

this is one of my favorite albums of all time, excited to see kevins reaction to "pyramid song" and "you and whose army" also excited to see what he thinks of this version of morning bell.
