At the end she moves on and goes with the guy, and the girls become a fond memory. Then later she puts the tape in and the girls appear again. In a way it’s about how the group will always be there to comfort her

2023-12-28 03:29:50 +0000 UTCMany people theorize Side A is about how fans often view idols as friends and will ignore the real world in preference of being absorbed in idol culture (MVs, YouTube shows, etc) and Side B is fans realizing they are growing up and moving on from the fan relationships, becoming more present in the world and setting around them. Personally I think the deer in Side A looking at the main girl is her 'innocence' and it walking away in Side B means she is letting go of the innocent love she has for idols to become more aware of those around her (in this case the main boy who yes stars in Twinkling Watermelon and Weak Hero Class 1 among other things). Other people theorize that the main girl is the only survivor of an accident (due to the cast) and that NewJeans were in said accident and passed away. But personally I see more backing in the fan-idol relationship theory! Edit: To add, at the end of Side B, the woman watching the tapes back is more than likely the main girl who is older and is now reminiscing of the past when she was heavily involved as a fan of the idols, recalling happy memories of how they were in her life. And then I like to theorize that maybe she became a fan again as NewJeans walked into the room, meaning that the woman might have started revisiting their music or content.
