"Moon?", you ask? Yes, the world on which the comic so far takes place is a moon orbiting a blue gas giant. You see it in most of the space shots, and you can frequently see the gas giant dominating the sky.
This gas giant is located in a binary star system. Between the two suns and the daylight reflecting off of the gas giant, daytime and nighttime on the moon can each last for months at a time. This also affects the weather of the planet. "Daytime" is warmer, with much of the moon being a burning desert and the poles shrinking to tiny ice shelfs. During the long night, the moon is much colder outside the controlled climate of The Sprawl. The ice shelf covering the poles expands and it becomes dangerous if you're exposed to the elements without protective gear.
