I've been sitting on this one for at least a year, covid killing all conventions meant my publisher had to put new books on hold, so book 5 isn't out yet, and I'm not certain when it will be out, but I wanted to at least share the cover art with you guys. It is coming eventually. My publisher already has the files, so it's just a matter of time.

Just realized last month's page dump was mislabled as LOG:04. Oh well, you guys know what chapter we're on.
If last month's pages were me getting back into my groove after shattering my shoulder, then these pages are me back to full steam ahead. I'm happy with how both pages turned out. And we should be back to steady, monthly updates going forward!

So, yeah, getting back into the swing of things is taking longer than I'd expected. I'm facing some massive issues with art block and motivation. I'll get there, though. In the meantime, this weekend I was able to produce this piece here.
I've also got a new Sprawl page in the works and I've been making some last minute fine tuning to LOG:05 before sending the book files off to the printer, so look forward to more news on that soon!

So yeah, not being able to draw for 3-4 months made it difficult to get back into the swing of things. I'm still crawling at a snail's pace but I did want to share some of the work I've gotten done since my arm sling came off.
You can really tell that this first page was my first attempt after regaining use of my arm. It took an entire month and I'm not happy with it, but it's a page! Once I'm up to speed again I'll likely come back and redraw this one.

Another month, another page dump. We're close to the end of LOG:05 now and I'll be taking some time off between chapters to get book 5 ready for print, make revisions to the LOG:06 outline, and do any design work that needs doing before I dive into the new chapter.
Expect more pages next month as we finish the chapter, but after that it might be some illustrations and design work to tide things over before page updates resume.

We're barreling towards the end of LOG:05. Not 100% sure where I'm going to end it and begin LOG:06 but I'll figure that out as I continue with page thumbnails. I'm pulling a bit further ahead, so I may take a break from finished pages to work on more thumbs.

So it looks like Katbox isn't shutting down quite yet, there was just a lapse in service for a few days. I'm not sure how much longer it will remain up, but I'm, once again hopeful that I'll be able to have the comic moved to a new home before Katbox really does go down for good.

The Sprawl Book Four should be making it's debut this year at MFF then appearing in the Ringtail online store shortly afterwards. That is the plan at least. I've already sent the files off to Ringtail so the ball is in their court now.
What I can say is that this chapter took far less time to make print-ready than previous chapters. Book 5, when it's completed, should take even less time to make it print ready. So you'll likely see that in the first half of next year. Book 6 likel...

I was able to knock this one out in a day.
I also sat down and took a look at the outline to figure out just how much more comic is left and we're currently just under 1/3 of the way through the LOG:05 outline. Which means there will be at least one more chapter. Possibly two more. For this arc, that is. I could keep The Sprawl going for many, many more years. But one step at a time.
I've built up a nice, big buffer, soon I'm going to turn my attention towards getting book 4...

I decided to reorder these last few pages. Now the doctor scene comes first, followed by this page, then finally Cenk meeting up with Wilm to discover the security weapons had been confiscated.
