Silverwing is a young adult novel written in 1997, about a bat named Shade Silverwing, a runt who get separated from his colony, and along with the bat above Marina Brightwing, they try to get Shade back to his people. It was written by Kenneth Oppel, and it's his most popular series, getting two sequels and a prequel novel, and a 2003 animated TV series. While the style would suggest and anime, it's actually a Canadian project, created by Bardel entertainment, with voice work by FUNimation. Marina Brightwing is Shade's companion throughout the series. Shade finds her secluded all alone on a island, as she was banished by her colony for being banded (the ID tags you put on animals for study). In the world of Silverwing, banded bats are looked at with scrutiny, either being vilified like Marina, or looked upon as someone greater. (One of shades elders is banded herself). It did get some home media releases, two versions in fact. One has all the 13 episodes as they were originally syndicated, another compiles them into 3 mini movies (Which works since the series was serialized instead of episodic, a rarity for the time) I suggested Marina Brightwing because there isn't a lot of sexy art of her. (Tho I have seen a lot of yaoi of the male characters of the show.) I was quite elated to see her appear! She looks great! Quite attractive!
