Among the Trek faithful, there are bifurcations re: which Trek is the best. Or worst - I have friends who can't endure whatever is happening in Voyager, which I sort of understand because it's weird as shit, but I feel like Janeway is such a unique figure in the setting that I'm still kinda in. Also, it has bug-men from a liquid dimension, which you don't lose points for. I liked Enterprise, which more indicated to the reader that I will watch anything that says Star Trek at the beginning.
Deep Space Nine exists almost parallel to the franchise itself. Occasionally stripped for parts by Discovery, which I liked on the whole and count the second season as some of my favorite Trek, DS9 doesn't even take place on a ship. It takes place in a Space Town. That's not even its weirdest trick! It wants to ask hard questions of the Federation. Oh, they bite around the core of this apple sometimes. But DS9 is willing to poke around in the Federation's swollen gums in a way that makes most other Trek shows feel like Federation propaganda. I'm not even sure Mike really watched Ds9 when it came out; I know I didn't. We were both pretty dumb.
I understand you've been told the top secret location for the even more secret PAX West rendezvous, which might have been the most populous one yet. I will see you there, with a friend you might have seen before.
I'm talking about Mike Krahulik,
