New (messy) update.

I swear patreon just reorganises things to be extra inconvenient at this point.

New update is sort of out, had to revert to a slightly older version because I couldn't get things fully fixed in time. This was always intended to be a "behind the scenes" update anyway. I've done a lot of reorganising (with a lot more still to go!) and am in the process of setting things up so that adding new content is really quick and easy and painless. I spend too much time just trying to get things functional and so have nowhere near enough time to just add more content, but after next update that should be a thing of the past, and I'll be able to add new content much faster and more efficiently, which was one of my biggest bottlenecks (my current biggest is writer's block, which I unfortunately haven't figured out a solution too yet, but hopefully I come up with something.)

This update is light on content, there's no new WG stuff, but things are reorganised a bit, the day cycle now actually serves a purpose, different characters will be in different locations, and they can be interacted with at these locations (Only Emily has dialogue for now, but next month they all should have proper dialogue).

The way it will work is fairly straightforward; each character has locations they could be at, and the player can interact with them, have a conversation and then asking them out on a date, they then pick a date spot from the map, giving the player options. For now, these don't really do much, but now that the system is set up, it will be extremely easing (coding wise at least) to set up dates at various locations. The reason it has been so lacking is because my old system of organisation was hot garbage, and it took me longer to just getting working than it did to write dates. So now any issues I face with adding dates and conversations will purely be a writing issue, not a coding one, which should save a fair bit of time going forward.

This system is obviously incomplete right now, over the next few updates I'm planning on adding dates and conversations for each character, including unique dates at specific locations, an inventory system complete with gift giving, and a kind of "stat screen" that lets the player see their own stats and information they have gathered about characters (i.e. Emily mentions she likes cats, the player will then have a little tidbit in their "Emily info" page that she likes cats.) and it should also have info on where the characters can be found on certain days of the week.

I don't plan on putting any sort of "love meter" or "relationship points" stat on display, as I think determining whether a character wants to date the player should be more dependent on their dialogue rather than some arbitrary number (The number will still exist, but it will reveal information in a more organic way, rather than being a generic RPG style experience bar)

Hoping to also finally put some new characters in the game, one of whom has been a very long time coming! As well as a few NPCs who will flesh out the world a little more and make it feel less like this town is only populated by like 6 people.
