Game Dev Update! 11-20-2018

Today is officially #ThankYouPatrons day. So before I get started, I'd like to take some time to express our gratitude for your support. What started to be as a hobby is now something much more. It hasn't exactly been a smooth ride for the project, but hey, we're moving along better than before. So again, on behalf of the PaperWaifu crew, thank you for staying with us!
Now, with some good news ;). The titlescreen has a new menu system in place in Summer in Springtime. My reaction to this is something like, oh-yeah-gee-whiz-a-new-menu-thingymajig-I-can't-fap-to-that! Yes, you can't fap to this, but it brings us a step closer to achieving Godhood. Now I need to make this come alive and replace the in-game menus and history dialog box. Once that's done, I can look at how to integrate this with our script parser. All the existing menus we have are a mess, so here's hoping that this will limit that. Once these are working, it should be easy to transfer to Ramen no Oujisama.
Another news is that I'm still looking for artist(s). I think I found two more candidates. I don't know man, artists like to leave me hanging lol. The animation stuff must be scaring them stiff once they see how many layers there are. I've come closer to realize what I need, and that's not exactly an artist who I'll need to rely on to give me full colored works, but someone who can assist, because the less I have to think of while doing the different mind-numbing aspects of the art, the faster I can fix them up. I'm talking to this other one who's a mangaka assistant in Japan, and another who's into drawing sexy GxG. I'm still thinking about it, but I think I value the mangaka's versatility and adaptability that I see in his gallery.
I'm also trying to fix up my workflow to produce better results when the new artist comes in. As with manga, I think we'll have to make good line art a priority here, so I think this is what I'll heavily rely on the external artist, and I get to vectorize the line art pretty quickly, prepping it up for animation stuff sooner than later.
Anyway, I think that's it for now. There are other exciting thoughts I'm dying to share with you guys, but that'll be for another post!

Make sure you keep a healthy life/work balance! :) You have done a wonderful job. I'm certain I speak for a vast majority when I say we value quality higher than how fast you can pump something out.
