Every episode Clark both demands his own privacy yet butts his nose into everyone else's personal/private business. Here, with Lex, it is even more absurd as Clark is a high school freshman getting upset because an adult who runs a company isn't telling underage child Clark all about every aspect of his business? As for Jonathan, how can they say with a straight face that Jonathan is the kind of person who prefers to believe in people when, since day 1, he trashes Lex because of Lionel's actions?
