GLEE | 4x10 'Glee, Actually'

Comments

maybe he had another experience, that we don't know or was mentioned in passing. Also, it could mean his wife, as he had to face that as well.

I love Burt. The phrase he used with Kurt during the cancer talk was weird though. 'This is the 3rd time I've had to stare death in the face'. He's had one heart attack and now cancer. His deceased wife stared death in the face, and that's the only other time canonically he's dealt with it. That makes 2 for Burt, not 3. 🤔

No one is going to care about this but the ice skating filming was a huge event while Glee was still airing. Fans found out the show would be filming something at Bryant park and showed up to watch them film. It became extra crazy when people realized they were filming something with Kurt and Blaine. It was mostly just crazy on social media like Tumblr and Twitter as those of us that couldn’t be there were eating up the videos and photos people were sharing. Yeah we were being spoiled because it was filmed in November but we didn’t care. Anyways, Chris and Darren spent quite awhile just getting used to the ice. Well Chris was getting used to the ice. Darren didn’t have as much of a problem. Poor Chris was like a baby deer and couldn’t get his feet under him at first. There are some really fun videos of them just skating around the rink and being silly. They spent a lot of time on the ice that night. Even with fans there it was a really chill shoot. Everyone was just having fun. The Christmas episodes are definitely some of my favorites of the show. I love that Artie’s part is sort of parodying It’s A Wonderful Life. I like that we got all the different storylines. I like that Sue basically tells you the plot of the episode right the beginning of the episode. If it wasn’t obvious I love the Kurt and Blaine duet. I think most people will say season 2 and 3 are the best. I think part of the problem was Ryan, Ian, and Brad weren’t really writing or directing as much anymore. They had basically handed off the show and were working on other things like American Horror Story and The New Normal. They weren’t focused on just Glee anymore and it showed.

I really like this episode! As a person with disabilities I relate to Artie’s storyline. Some days you just don’t feel like fighting anymore. I wish I had a Rory to give me a pep talk on those days. The Kurt/Burt/Blaine storyline is so freaking adorable! And so is the Marley/Millie/Sue one! Ian Brennan (who wrote like 99% of Sue’s character) is honestly genius. The way he managed to make a character with some of the most outrageous opinions still be so incredibly likeable at times! The Puckerman storyline is very random at first (and how could Jake believe that Puck lived in that house? Lol) but I really like the way it ends! The Brittany/Sam storyline I don’t really care for. (I don’t really care for them as a couple either, always preferred her with Santana and him with Mercedes.) But with their storyline it is important to remember that Glee is a satire. A lot of people forget that and just watch it for the music and relationship and get confused when random stuff is thrown in. But if you embrace the randomness it adds another layer to the show!

I watch this episode for the Kurt/Burt/Blaine storyline and literally nothing else 😆 but the Sue/Marley/Millie one is sweet.

I really like this episode, as I do all the Glee Christmas episodes. I rewatch them all every year. I love the way this movie parallels Love Actually, despite me not liking that movie (controversial lol). And it's so nice to see Kurt and Blaine starting to reconnect now. I'm glad that you enjoyed this episode more than the last few and don't worry, the season gets better and better from here. For me anyway. With Glee, there are crazy moments in the early seasons but from season 4 onwards the storylines get more and more insane. The Mayan apocalypse will seem normal to you by the time you finish this show lol. If you judge the crazy storylines you won't enjoy the seasons to come, so just embrace the craziness and you'll have a great time with these later seasons like I do. 😂

Siobhan Linehan

I haven’t but I understood what she was saying. There’s plenty of movies that do that. (New years eve, Valentine’s Day, etc)

From what I recall, Travis has not seen Love, Actually yet

I still love that no one can insult Marley.

Annie Willow

Ahh marleys voice is just so beautiful and easy. LOVE me some Burt. The next few episodes have great songs! It’s definitely starting to pick up!

EmmWork

so, this episode isn't one of my favorite glee christmas episodes... I really like it because of Klaine and Marley's storylines...

Haha I never made that connection til you said this and now I feel like it was super obvious this entire time and I'm dumb. This episode just made me feel like it was all over the place and now I understand why. Hahah I'm dumb it's literally called glee, actually

Angelina Sargent

Burt is quite literally the GOAT, and mike o'malley plays him so damn well, an underrated performance imo. Also, 'White Christmas' is great <3

Tiffany Tews

have you seen "Love Actually" like what Sue was talking about in the beginning, The random story lines are referencing that movie where random stories are in little segments and by the end they all come together. I think it is so cool :) just incase you were confused at all lol Love your reactions :)

Burt's the best ❤️❤️❤️! But Brittany and Sam are just too ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣. I love the fervor with which Sam was 'teaching' Brit about the Mayan apocalypse, even though she already believed it and needed no convincing whatsoever 🤣🤣🤣. Let's just call Sue the asshole with a heart of gold (sometimes). I love the dynamic between Marley and her mom ❤️❤️❤️. And yes, that was indeed the gorgeous Aisha Tyler (no surprise, I completely forgot she was in this 🤣🤣🤣)
