The Daleks definitely get more scary as time goes on and the brain and the pig slaves and the human Dalek are all SO gross lol. Hoover-ville was a real place yes, we learned about it in school. America was in a really bad way back then. So I like how they highlighted that and how they eluded to the fact that even now the rich people don't care about helping the poor. Symbolism like this is something Doctor Who does so well. Subtle messages woven into the sci-fi stories. 👌 And yeah Andrew Garfield was so young here. But still a great actor, his accent is good. I love it when they have big stars on the show, there are many more to come. I was waiting for your reaction when you saw him lol. Part two is brilliant so I look forward to that soon. 😊

2023-05-16 22:05:35 +0000 UTCSo, this episode was released in 2007, so, depending on when they recorded for this episode, Andrew Garfield would've been around 23/24 at the time. He looks so skinny here that it looks like he would break if you hugged him too tightly. Yeah, Tallulah thinking that the Doctor is gay because of his love of musical theater always gets a kick out of me 🤣🤣🤣. That human Dalek is definitely creepy! Anyways, you'll definitely see some more familiar faces the further you get into Doctor Who :)

2023-05-16 20:46:19 +0000 UTCThis story is a so-so one for me. There's very few dalek episodes I really like. But I do love seeing Andrew Garfield in it. I love seeing the big stars of today back when they were early in their careers getting some screen time on Doctor Who haha.
