I wanted to explain more about the lore of Astrid and friends. I think that plot bounds force creativity to grow. Maybe this is an auto self inflicted bound on my Original character. Astrid has certain rules that I must respect. This makes the character special.

music - "You, who are on the road, must have a code you know you can live by..." - from an old song. Too true - the big things that get fans to break with mainstream comics is when new writers just grossly ignore old rules. From tiny now obscure or embarrassingly dated to major plot points. It's a pretty powerful thing to deal with that Astrid might have to leave - and who she's going to have sex with and how Bod will react to it. Will he have to stand by while some golden Greek God style character does her - or is it HIM but in doing so he's "Killing" Astrid albeit in a transformative manner? I do my best to establish themes and rules in my stories even if I don't advertise them but make sure it runs according to a set of them. You have to be careful to avoid being trapped that way or spending too long working on it and revising it. Also for a reality check if you make something awesome it will have to have tiny flaws in it (a different rule) but fans will explain Kessel Runs and other things away.
