Use intimate knowledge of the guard's schedule and layout, Find the weakest point and then impersonate as a guard with prisoner. The jailor notes the only reason they saw through the ruse was because Paul was smiling too much.
Topfer sadly states Paul shouldn't have returned since being sacked. The new private guard suggests executing the two prisoners for their transgressions, but Paul reasons that would be a pity as he knows how his old employer can get a hold of a dragon.
In the previous story it's strongly hinted Topfer wanted to capture some kind of magic beast (like a golem) to help improve his standing among the elite.
Will he take the bait??
