Development Update #37

Hi everyone! Development is progressing as expected on Chapter 19. :) It should be out in late October, no exact date yet. Writing all the characters interacting with one another is always fun since they have such different personalities. Every scene is an opportunity to flesh them out a bit further and to have them play off one another. That sometimes leads them to slightly derail the story, but that's the fun of writing! Rendering them in a heavy forest like the Southlands, though.... That is a real pain with Daz. It takes literally 4-5 minutes just to preview a small lighting tweak, which is nothing short of aggravating. It's definitely something for me to keep figuring out and improving, because posing renders is probably 75%+ of the time I spend on game dev. Maybe I should do stick figures in a white void for the next game... TBD. :P

I know this is an old post, but have you used anything like Scene Optimizer to help with render and preview times? It worked wonders for me in a recent series I rendered. Wasn't even able to render or preview the scene until I used it. After, it took about 3 1/2 hours for a render. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of render times are you seeing for some of the more "congested" scenes?

Quick question, how do I add these last few files, Chapters 15 thru 18 to my game? I have yet to unzip the files I downloaded so if a note to install I have not yet read that.

I looked into it, but the biggest time consumer is actually just posing and figuring out if my renders look good. Daz is super laggy even just posing, plus the lag with previewing... It's a real party. :P
