A decade older than her, he was nonetheless always kind, patient and generous with her, treating her like a little sister. She did not see him like a brother, as he was her first crush. When his family moved away, she was crushed and she never forgot him. Ten years later, when he fills in as a substitute teacher for her grade 12 history class, she’s stunned and decides not to let him slip away again.
ASOIAF - Queens Chapter 3 - Ashara had some reservations about sending Arya and Alyria to live in the captial and so she's surprised and thrilled when she learns, just a few moons later, that her daughters each wish to wed. Renly Baratheon and Loras Tyrell might not be the heirs to anything, but they belong to paramount houses and are members of the royal court. As she visits King's Landing, however, she quickly learns that these engagements aren't quite what they appear to be and ends up seduced into a web of debauchery she couldn't have imagined.
