We walk out the front door to blackberry brambles, ferns, and Douglas Fir trees that have been here for a hundred years or more. The light on sunny days is beautiful in the shade of our monstrous trees, and our first guest is here for my first shoots in Portland.
Its winter, so we do not stray far from the house, but we don't have too. The forest is everywhere, and I still find myself in disbelief that this is where we live as Juno poses among the flora, and in 10 minutes we create what I would happily drive an hour to do before. Then we walk back inside to warmth and to chat with Nicole.
Among the leaves on the forest floor I lay for the right angle for the photo. The same place I laid as a child to feel relaxed...to feel pace.
