Valentina and Vaunt in Ireland

Traveling internationally to a place you can not really scout due to time constraints means relying on people you meet and stay with, and internet research. Valentina and I had both came to the same question when it came to nudes in nature in Ireland: "Why hasn't anyone shot in The Burren?"

Then I arrived, and we set out to find answers, and answers we did find.

The Burren is an incredible National Park in western Ireland. Glacial carved limestone forms incredible deep cracks and patterns as far as you can see. Sometimes it disappears into fields of grass only to reappear a few steps later in incredible resurfacing. Its hard to describe, its even hard to grasp from photos until you are standing above it trying to figure out "How the fuck do I capture and translate this?"

The trick is while it forms all of these intense crazy cracks and shaps its almost entirely flat on top. The rocks come repeatedly to jagged uniform points like a bed of nails made from sand paper daggers...posing on it is hard. Finding an angle to photograph a pose on it is hard. In just the short time we found cloud cover to shoot Nicole, Valentina, and I were all covered in bruises, cuts, and gashes from the various ways the sharp limestone found new and exciting ways to cut us up.

"Why hasn't anyone shot in The Burren" became the thing we said aloud laughing as we stepped, rolled, and fell our way to new bruises.

All the punishment though was worth it as in addition to the incredible limestone fields we also found the most idyllic Irish forest I have ever seen while on our hike where we could create images I feel like captured exactly how I had imagined Ireland.
