Every now and then I see a place that has not really me written all over it, but I just love it, and want to shoot there. This little bnb in LA was exactly such a place. If there is anything I'm not known for its 50's era locations with retro pin up aesthetic, but that could really be because I have never lived in a city where such places are easy to find.
The longer I have done photography the more I realize geography has one of the biggest influences on style. The places you have access to, the light from day to day, the weather, architecture...all of these things have such a huge influence over what I can do. Sometimes when traveling I feel like a fish out of water. The tricks I am used to working will not work, locations can be harder to find, but without the challenge the work would be boring.
So I took this opportunity with Asami to do something out of the norm, and it was a blast. This atomic era green has been one of my favorite colors my entire life. So I took it in, found the right window for the light, and we created something pretty magical.
