Damsel and Rachelle for Into the Wild

Its hot, children aren't in school, the sky is generally cloudless, and every terrible plant in the forest is growing in abundance. Two years ago Damsel, Rachelle and I learned this first hand when we tried to shoot in Wisconsin.
The midwest is more like the North East than it is the west coast. Poison Ivy grows everywhere, so even the most beautiful spots are very very treacherous for what we do. Naked bodies rolling around in poison ivy is a very very real danger for models. So if you shoot nudes in nature you need to learn how to identify plans.
We hiked all over the small forest near Damsel's home trying to find a place we could shoot to almost no avail. Following a small stream we eventually came to a place, but we found we were sharing that spot with a swarm of yellow jackets that had come to drink water. Yellow jackets aren't terrible unless there sting can kill you, and it just so happens there sting can kill me, so after the first few buzzed passed me while shooting Rachelle we decided it would be best to move.
After even more hiking and searching, and deciding we would just drive to a different location all together we managed to find one mossy covered stone that was safely away from poison ivy, and had some decent light to work with. Normally a shoot with this few photos would be something that we shot pretty quickly, but it actually took us almost 8 hours start to finish to create these images. Yep 8 hours.
