Evyenia and Leza Lush at Prospect Park
Added 2017-08-12 21:30:23 +0000 UTCIf there is one thing I love its find a place that feels hidden in a gigantic city. A path that you can turn down and disappear. In New York that is hard to come by. Winter and Fall are great times to be in Prospect Park...you can find those moments alone there, but this spring I was back east for a wedding and decided to fit in a quick shoot with Evyenia and Leza.
Beautiful days do bring the people out of the city and into the park, so what I have previously found to be relatively easy felt sort of like a wild goose chase for the perfect spot. Funnily one of the many less walked paths we took dead ended at a gigantic swan sitting on a nest...not a goose, but still really captured I think all of our feelings as we bounced around searching for a place where the light and crowds didn't come together.
To be honest we pretty much just gave up on not being seen. Leza and I waited for a couple minutes at our one location, and managed to shoot quickly, but after sitting around the waterfall for half an hour we all decided we'd be better off just shooting quickly and leaving equally as quickly.
I was willing to call it, but neither of them were, and so we spent 5 minutes shooting very fast, throwing clothing on when large groups came by, and then quickly hiked right out of the park. It was definitely a serious challenge, but I love that even though for us the park was not empty, we still managed to create photos with the feeling.
