Late summer I made my way to my favorite hidden place outside of Philadelphia for what I knew would be the last time. Raquel and I had been planning this shoot for a while, and I knew exactly where I wanted to go...the Pine Barrens.
Finding amazing places to shoot out east was a lot harder than here. I had to learn to love the forests I grew up in because I'd always been around them, but I knew the light there. I knew where to go what time of day because I've spent so much time hiking through east coast forests. Raquel wanted an amazing place to shoot nudes with the wings she had put together, and I wanted to put them among the almost monochromatic forests in New Jersey.
Raquel hasn't really done nudes before, and part of me being able to share these with you was that I censor them, as she only wants me to use the uncensored work for prints, or the eventual book of The Jungle, so I'm sorry about that, but part of having people willing to put themselves out there for you as a photographer is never violating your subjects trust.
And I always place there concerns above my own.
That said I think you will still love the images Raquel and I shot in the golden light of the Pine Barrens. I used my 85mm for these to really throw the forest into a beautiful out of focus background.
