I don't always know where I am going! I think Temperance as a series is the best example of this. From shoots to shoot I vacillate on what the point of the series is. Am I trying to explore erotica, pin up, figure studies, light, reflections? I don't really know. I guess I am trying to do all of the above. If I was just trying to do one I'd get bored. Even within series that are fairly well defined I think its important that I try a lot of things to see what works.
Somebody else will probably figure out how to piece it all together down the line.
My should with
Nova Amour for Temperance was a lot of fun. With the assistance of Danny Wolfchild(set to come soon) I managed to really play around with the mirrors to create some interesting compositions that I think blur together the line of figure study and eroticism. I've been really trying to play with multiple reflections. It gets confusing trying to figure out what angles they need to be at to play off each other, capture the model, and not capture my feet. It also makes lens selection very important. Its counter-intuitive but sometimes using the wider angler lens and being close the mirror actually makes it easier for me to not be in the shot.
There is a lot of guess, test, and revise happening in the room, but the challenges keep me interested. Hopefully they are keeping you all interested as well.
