Nicole Vaunt for The Jungle

When I started the Jungle a little over a year ago, I didn't really think that it was going to be any sort of series. I still don't really know where I am going with it. Too me it bridges the gap between Into the Wild and Temperance. It gives me a project that I love doing, and can do on the road if the landscape doesn't blow me away enough to do outdoor nudes without styling.

So Nicole and I never really shot for it. We'd travel to far away and amazing places, shoot We Were Wanderers, but it had never really occurred to me that some how we hadn't ever even tried a shoot for The Jungle, so when we started planning this we decided to go all out. We got hair, a stylist, lingerie, and went out into the perfect fall day.

The woods near our house had reached the perfect color. The tail end of Autumn had brought down most of the leaves allowing the soft light through the branches, but enough still clung to give us an amazing back drop to shoot against. It was amazing seeing my boo transform from the the badass fine art nude model to the bad ass retro styled model, and watching her be able to pose in a completely different way. We shoot in nature so often that I forget she is a jack of all trades. Put her in your photos and she's going to kill it one way or another.

I'm so proud of how these images came out I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do. They are really something special.

Like most of my shoots for The Jungle all of these were taken with my Sigma 85mm F1.4 at F1.4-1.6. I just love what the incredibly low depth of field does to the forest in the background.
