Most of my favorite art is erotica. Moments where camera captures something most people would consider pornographic, but the image tells an entire story. Its more interesting than a moving picture...its mysterious or its sad, or maybe the still image is moving. Powerful erotica can definitely make you think.
I've tried for the majority of the time I have been shooting to create images like this. A lot of the time disheartened with the results. When you walk a fine line you are bound to step over it. I want my images to be thought provoking and not thoughtless. My shoot with Ravyn I think has taken steps in the right direction. We shot some intensely erotic photos that I am quite proud of.
Telling a short story for Temperance that pushes the series further, while still holding fast to my photographic standards. Is it porn? Probably. Is it still art? I think so.
