Mika and I haven't shot outdoors, since our very first shoots in Miami for 50 Models 50 States. Her last couple trips up to Philadelphia its either been winter and way too cold to shoot, or winter and too cold and wet to shoot.
But we finally made time to take a quick trip out to the woods near my house to shoot back in July. I had found this fallen tree on a hike a few weeks earlier, and decided that I wanted to make the trip back to shoot late in the day to get the light coming in from above. Its beautifully soft right around sunset, and the texture of the bark looks amazing lit from above. The tree also took out a lot of the overhead canopy on the way down, so it made for a nice shooting lane as well.
I climbed all over shooting from above her on the tree, down the path trying to get as many interesting angles as possible. With all the pre-planning we managed to shoot in about 15 minutes and get a bunch of great images.
These were all shot with my Sigma 85mm F1.4 at ISO 400-800
