Venom, Malorie and Button in San Diego
Added 2015-09-02 22:12:33 +0000 UTCIt took me years to finally get to San Diego, but after meeting Venom in Ohio while I was on the road for 50 Models 50 States she let me know that if I ever happened to make it down there I'd have a place to stay. That is usually about all it takes to get me somewhere. Then I started seeing the absolutely amazing photos she was posing for and taking in Southern California, and I knew I was going to have to make the trip as soon as possible.
Our first shoot went absolutely amazing. Its one of my earliest posts on Patreon, so you may have to dig back a little bit for but we created a ton of beautiful images! This time we shot even more awesome images for Into The Wild, and she brought along her friends Button Suicide and Malorie to shoot.
Shooting in San Diego this trip was a little more challenging working with what most people would call awesome weather. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, so it was a lot of hunting for shade, or back lighting for good photos. My shoot with Malorie and Button I exclusively used the Sigma 85mm F1.4 to throw the mostly bright background out of focus, and create interesting textures with the forest in the foreground and background.
For Venom and I's shoot we woke up early and shot around sunset cliffs with the 17-40mm F4. The landscape there was so beautiful, and Venom's ability to pose, and rock climb with freezing cold paicific waves crashing around her well its goddamn amazing. She's one of the most talented people I get to work with and every time is amazing. I hope you guys enjoy what we got!
