Let's Try Going Full Time
Added 2024-11-01 02:00:03 +0000 UTCGreetings. I have been considering this for a long time.
I like making audios. I forgot that as it became an obligation alongside freelance jobs that also involved sitting at a computer editing all day. My latest contract as a freelancer came to a close and after yet another sour experience? I'm done doing that for now. Not when I can try to do this. My overhead is low, but budgets for audios aren't. That's fine. I don't mind cutting down on my personal expenses if it means waking up with some vigor and a passion to work.
I'm going to make a run at doing this full time. I might fail, but I'd like to try. So, here's the plan.
The most obvious change: Not all Patreon money will go to VO and Art. I have been spending more than necessary on both, and the result is often audios that are bloated and art that is too costly and takes too long to come out. This will not lead to a dip in quality or in complexity. If anything I will use the additional free time for better sound mixing, and the money saved on dialogue (typically charged per word) to pay for more moans and grunts, thus longer scat/gas scenes.
I've introduced a $1 tier for those uninterested in backing at a higher tier for one reason or another. To all my Free Members, I hope you'll consider signing up. Anything helps at this point.
In addition to the Monthly Audio, I will introduce a "Found Sounds" monthly audio, which will feature a character vocal pack/vocal samples similar to what Nounsthesame has been doing up, which will be exclusive to $5 and up listeners. These will not be restricted by theme. Monthly, voice-acted audios will continue to be free to all.
Previews will be a bigger priority for me, so those at the $5 tier and up will have more content each month to enjoy.
For November, I will try to release all current audio projects. In truth, the average turnaround time for an audio with a dedicated edit is around 2-3 work days but I rarely had "day job" time to do. Now I will, so it doesn't seem impossible.
For those who don't intend to/cannot support monetarily, please just wish me luck, and consider sharing my work around to anyone who might enjoy it.
Thank you all.
