London Andrews for Into The Wild
Added 2014-12-20 06:37:24 +0000 UTCOne of the the best things that can happen is being asked to do work that would absolutely have loved to anyway. That is what has happened the past two years with London commissioning me to shoot her yearly calendar.
London gave me the opportunity to work with her well before I was really ready. She has always been an amazing model with a following that is passionate and huge in numbers, and at the time I was 19 and really just beginning to figure this photography thing out, and living in nowhere Central Pennsylvania. So to have London come through my town to work with me was really an amazing moment. We shot that time along the river where I regularly swam as a kid, she played with my cat, and picked some tomatoes from my neighbors garden. It was a meeting that would turn me onto the traveling lifestyle I have now as she taught me so much about the places art can take you.
Flash forward 7 years and we are now close friends. London is still one of my heroes, but one I can reach out to for advice and help, one that I get to create work with a couple of times a year.
These photos were all shot during my shoot for her 2015 calendar in the general Rochester area, her home town. It was a bit of a challenge as we had a only three days to shoot five different locations, and couldn't take off for any problems with the weather. We shot on sunny days, we shot on runny days, and we even had one day where the weather gave us a break. Most of these were shot with my 17-40mm lens as I like to shoot my outdoor nudes in beautiful landscapes to have a lot of depth of field, and a really wide field of view.
