Czepeku is Hiring! Role: Graphic Designer
Added 2025-02-13 12:55:19 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
We're looking for a designer to join our team to help us with creating marketing assets, for example, social media banners, advertisements, kickstarter graphics, newsletters, blog, etc. but also graphic design features like buttons and UI elements for our website, and product logos, layouts and designs.
We want to make sure that our wonderful community has the chance to apply before we post elsewhere. Many of our team members we've found through our Patreon, Discord, and social media. We think it's a great way to make sure that those who love what we do already are able to join us in making Czepeku even better. We recently hired our Growth Marketing Lead from a similar patreon post. So let's hope it'll work again. :)
For years now the graphics we've been using on the website and advertisements have been made by Cze, but he's not a graphic designer and we've always felt we should be doing better. If design is your line of work and passion, read below for more information!
Job Overview:
As our graphic designer, you'll help us to create marketing images that we use across our website, social media, and paid advertising. This may extend to marketplace packaging, physical product design, landing page layouts, website UI elements, Kickstarter graphics, banners, and more. Even though we're a team of artists you'll be the sole graphic designer. As such we're looking for someone who likes to work in a team but can design independently.
Salary:
USD $35k, based on the skills and experience of the candidate.
That's about £28k GBP or €29 - €34k EUR.
Location:
Remote. Our company is UK based, but our team is from all over the world. With a concentration in UK, EU and East Asia. We use Discord for project planning.
Responsibilities:
Develop a recognisable visual identity for Czepeku to use across our website and social media.
Create UI elements and project logos consistent with visual identity.
Work with the marketing lead and marketing team to create Kickstarter designs, banners, and adverts to help present our work in a visually appealing and understandable way.
Help brainstorm and design attractive physical products based on our maps, scenes, and tokens.
Recognise areas of development and growth within Czepeku's visual identity and be comfortable bringing them forward.
Requirements:
A passion for DnD and tabletop RPGs.
Experience working in a team and delivering work as part of a back-and-forth process.
Understanding of best practices for web and physical printing.
Strong communication skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.
Desire to work on various types of projects - one month may be UI focused while another may involve putting together banners and social media ads and yet another month may require a focus on mockups for physical products.
Ability to work closely with other artists and speak knowledgeably and comfortably regarding visual choices you might make.
Comfort with technology and working with a large, spread out team that are not all awake at the same time.
How to Apply:
Please send your portfolio (including previous client work and relevant designs), and a resume/CV and cover letter to hiring@czepeku.com. Include 'Graphic Designer' to the email subject. Please keep in mind we do not use AI in any of our work. Portfolios including AI work will be ignored, as we want to support human artists.
In your cover letter, share your personal experience with TTRPGs.
Thank you all for being part of our Czepeku community!

2025-03-02 23:08:09 +0000 UTCWe'd prefer to offer this role to people who are our supporters/part of the community already. But thank you for the offer. :)

2025-02-18 18:57:23 +0000 UTCAre we allowed to share this with others who may be interested outside of the Patreon? I know people who may love to apply for this position, but the post refers to making this focused on here and more focused methods of what you guys do, but people with both passion for D&D and these skills might be interested. :) Do let me know, happy to not post if you guys want to focus on here for now.

2025-02-18 11:47:45 +0000 UTCNo plan for ships, just buildings. That would make for a good follow up campaign though!

2025-02-16 09:56:42 +0000 UTCI hope the kickstarter will include a stretch goal for Bastion Ships (basically allowing them to curve with the curvature of a ship). I honestly don't know what the plan for the product is like, so this might not be necessary.

2025-02-16 06:28:32 +0000 UTCI just sent my Resume and Portfolio just now!! So excited to get the chance to work with the team. I'm available for any validation test if needed!

2025-02-15 10:37:37 +0000 UTCFeel free to send over your portfolio and if we think you're right for the role we can negotiate a different salary. The salary suggested was recommended by friends of ours in the field working in the UK and EU.

2025-02-14 11:45:40 +0000 UTCThis was the starting salary for an entry level graphic designer when I graduated 20 years ago. Part time better pay would give you better quality candidates.

2025-02-14 01:22:38 +0000 UTCThat might be true but our company is in the UK. And as stated in the post most of our team is UK, EU or Asia based. California has some of the highest salaries in the world, especially LA and Bay Area. We'd be bankrupt if the team was on California prices.

2025-02-13 23:48:38 +0000 UTCSure, go for it! :)

2025-02-13 23:47:03 +0000 UTCDon't worry, we're not looking for artists, we have a whole team of artists. We're looking for someone who has design skills, typography, layout, logos, etc. :) Just send over your portfolio and we'll be able to judge if it covers what we're looking for.

2025-02-13 23:46:50 +0000 UTCI very much agree with the previous statement that the salary is quite low. Average for Los Angeles (where I live) is $60k.

2025-02-13 22:27:17 +0000 UTCSent over my resume just now! I both use your work regularly and am in the market for my next role, so this might be fortunate timing!

2025-02-13 15:15:42 +0000 UTCHi there! I have been using your maps for years and I would love the chance to work with you. Your description is a bit broad, though, and I worry if I will meet your needs. I can confidently make a wide variety of logos and banners for you but I am not a character artist as such. Is there a way we could have a conversation about your specific requirements?
James Kaluhiokalani
2025-02-13 13:44:08 +0000 UTCCan I forward this to possibly interested players who enjoy your maps? I'd personally apply but I'm enjoying a really safe and wonderful job at the moment.
Sofia Rin
2025-02-13 13:41:12 +0000 UTCI suppose that depends on your location. If it's too low but you're interested in the role, feel free to reply and we can discuss the salary if we think you're right for the role. We asked several graphic designers we know in the UK and EU and took their guidance on the salary.
Cze and Peku
2025-02-13 13:17:20 +0000 UTCIs this a full time job? $35k is very low for a salary if so
