Port Bastion [46x36]

Hi everyone :)

Today we're returning to this city series. We started with the Market Streets a few months back and we're heading across the bridge to the Port Bastion. We'll be releasing 7 more maps in this series over the next few months and once they're completed we're hoping to make 1 scene showing a view of the entire city so you will have an entire setting to let your players explore.

We've also included a PNG file of the dragon cannon too in case you'd like to add more to your fortifications!

Here's a quick visualisation of the 2 maps we've created so far along with the next planned maps:

Enjoy everybody, we're very excited to show you more of this series!

If you're looking for cool boats and ships to use with this map, we recommend our friend Limithron's Patreon. Limithron started out as a Czepeku patron and ended up becoming a cartographer himself. His work is focused on ships, pirates, and anything nautical.

Thank you

I love that the desert version replaces water with sand. It makes it significantly more useful in desert campaigns. Mine has ships that sail through sand, so it's even better.

As with anything you see in the maps you don't like, you don't have to use them. The idea in our head was that this was a port designed for building colossal ships and everything else sprung up around that. All the smaller ships, etc. are there to facilitate the building of the big ship. Like protection, goods trading, towing, etc. It would make more sense if the land at the top is part of a small island so it's easy to go around.

Indeed it doesn't! But as a dm we can just make up a different explanation. In case you need inspiration: -it's not a river but a coastal city and an island. The two communities hate each others guts but an outside threat is making them join together to build a warship. - The river is an important shipping route, until a ship gets stuck. Unable to be removed, it has to be dismantled instead. And when in doubt, just say ✨because magic✨ Why did it have to be constructed there? Magical engine doodads need to be at a specific coordinate during calibration and it just happened to be there. And why would that be worth it? It's the king's ship and he doesn't care. Something like that for instance!

Fable (not the game)

The glimpse of a coral reef is such a cute flourish

Fable (not the game)

What's up with the ship under construction? It's blocking the movement of other ships? That makes no sense.

Albert Nakano

I love that it's got cannons instead of ballistae

Immediately useful, please keep these city maps coming <3
