I felt the same about the Grateful Dead for a long time.. until I heard “Morning Dew - live in London 1972”, also “The Other One - live at Fillmore East, NY 1971”.. absolute rippers… thanks for all the work you do! just joined a few weeks ago 💜

2025-02-27 01:08:04 +0000 UTCI once gave myself a bad DMT trip on purpose by playing “We Suck Young Blood” by Radiohead. I don’t know why I did it, but it was maybe a form of self-harm. The experience was overall positive though as it generally is on DMT. After coming out of it my appreciation for life and for my dog (who was constantly licking my face because she could see something was wrong). I guess I also wanted to find out if I could view the experience positively. I enjoy that song a lot when I’m sober, so I was wondering if while tripping I would manage to appreciate the darkness of it. But no, as I predicted, it threw me into a very dark spiral after only like 30-45 seconds.

2024-05-12 10:31:47 +0000 UTCIt was mentioned but Jon Hopkins has an album conceived for ketamine trips : Music for Psychedelic Therapy. He also participated in the creation of the Wavepaths app, also for psychedelic sessions. A new album called RITUAL will also be for similar purposes. https://jonhopkins.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-psychedelic-therapy https://wavepaths.com

2024-05-01 06:49:37 +0000 UTCI'm only at the intro, but "Your Brain on Art" by Ivy Ross and Susan Magsamen is a great book I frequently recommend. They talk about music as well as other sensory experiences and the influence it has on us and our well-being. Small discussion of psychedelics too. Good intro to the variety of research and case studies out there that validate what a lot of people have intuitively figured out. And thanks to everyone in the comments with some great recs 🫶🏼
