2024-01-11 00:59:17 +0000 UTCIn one of these recent episodes Hamilton mentioned a friend that has a great internet mysteries podcast however I cannot for the life of my find it again, I coulda sworn it was in this episode, at least an extremely recent one. Does anyone know?

2023-05-22 19:08:24 +0000 UTCTwo meme warfare examples I heard of recently were folks reposting pic of random unrelated burning cars and barns as successful Russian strikes in UKR. Also a subreddit dedicated to making memes designed to set conservatives against members of the GOP or governmental initiatives proposed by the GOP by couching the memes as outrage posts.

2023-05-19 01:42:56 +0000 UTCFascinating to hear about investigating the origins of popular memes. Really wild. Very curious how AI is going to impact memes going forward. We are really living in crazy times with both the rise of psychedelic and AI. Just hope that AI doesn't derail the positive attention psychoactive drugs are receiving.

2023-05-08 02:40:10 +0000 UTClol I don’t think so. Just google “Harvard douchebag” and it’s the blonde guy at a desk in his dorm. One of the first search results on Google is actually an interview with the Harvard Crimson that they did with him.

2023-05-05 19:34:42 +0000 UTCSurprised at all the people a bit disgruntled over meme content here. I appreciate any convos you have and enjoy the non-science as much as the meme-science :) for what it’s worth I believe both memes and psychedelics can give us insight into the workings of the human mind. What goes viral is in a way analogous to common trip hallucinations like seeing god or machine elves. It’s all in the architecture of the brain imo. So keep tripping and memeing, bc it feels good man!

2023-05-05 14:54:45 +0000 UTCA friend of mine became the guy depicted in the “Harvard douchebag” meme. In actuality he’s a brilliant guy that attended Harvard and likely had a really hard time with that meme circulating so widely. I couldn’t believe it when I saw someone that I *actually knew* become a viral meme! It was surreal and surely must’ve felt degrading after a certain point. At first it was probably all fun n’ games…. But then it went worldwide. The funniest part is that he’s absolutely not a pretentious douchebag.
