A Real Hero | Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode 12 Reaction

You know we love a backstory, and this one was fantastic 🥹🥰 Little Baby Stark... 💕 (and Stoltz is Love House material 100%).

A Real Hero | Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode 12 Reaction

Comments

About not getting too emotional in the first episodes. Go back and rewatch the first two episodes. The hit completely different after you have gotten to know the Hero's party.

I'm pretty sure Fern is younger then Stark. I think she's 17, she's still pretty young. I do love this episode and the insights in it. Makes me tear up. Thanks for sharing!

Firstly congratulations on your baby!! So happy for yall!! I just wanted to say I love the symbolism in jewelry in this show. There’s an immense amount of sentiment in all jewelry given or worn in this story, we’ve seen some of it already. Fern’s butterfly hairpiece from Frieren, how Frieren wears flamme’s earrings, and now fern gifting stark a bracelet! I hope yall noticed jewelry in all its subtleties going forward :)

A “fake” hero A “disgraceful” mage A “corrupt” priest A “cowardly” warrior The party that defeated the demon king. I think one of the messages of this show, particularly this episode, is you define your own life, no one else does. It doesn’t matter what labels people put on you, only how you choose to act will ultimately decide what you are.

The baby in the background 😍 congrats again! And I was extra surprised to hear it because you don't seem tired at all. I really wouldn't be able to tell that you're fresh parents, usually they're Frieren levels of tired. Also, I just love how every episode contains multiple moments and lines that you could put on a poster and quote all the time. It's so slow sometimes but damn is it deep and does it have many moments that make one think and/or reflect and learn.

I actually have The Sword in the Stone on VHS! 😂 Even on a rewatch, this episode still got me teary eyed. When Stark was sitting in front of the hero's sword, he had flashbacks of his brother, and when he was thinking of his brother, he had flashbacks of the sword because for Stark, the true hero has always been his older brother 😭 And I actually love the fact that Stark didn't try to pull the sword - I feel like that would have ruined all the lessons they were teaching us this episode: that what matters is your effort and actions; you don't need the "Hero's Sword" to be a hero. If Stark had pulled it, it would have felt like a slap in the face to both Himmel's and his brother's memories, like saying they weren't good enough. Also Frieren met Fern "20 years after the death of Himmel" and we're currently at 29 years after his death so Fern's also only in her late teens - it has been years but it hasn't been THAT long lol

Stark is around the same age as Fern. He is a bit older. Ferns is 17 at this point

Even if Stark wanted to try to pull the sword. He could not get into the cave. There is a barrier stopping anything from entering.

So, when Flamme tells Frieren to surprised her manager for the first time she asks how long does she need to do it becase just after a minute she says it is becoming tiring. She has been doing it non stop for a thousands years. That's why she is so tired. We also met Kraft who said Frieren is still young. She may be younger than Fern at this point as far as elf years compared to human years. Similar to dog years are in the real world. Even with that said. I believe if Frieren or any elf can live forever if they don't die from a several sickness, and acident, or death in a battle.
