eren keeps going on and on about not wanting to live a sheltered life of ignorance, yet when it comes down to it, he keeps refusing to acknowledge bigger things beyond his narrow view of the world. Both mikasa and armin have shown tremendous growth in the last few episodes, what has eren done? hesitated, second guessed himself and his superiors, denied the truth and facts before him. His mind is the one that's in a cage.
