POD 47: The mysterious life of Al Hubbard with Brad Holden

Al Hubbard is one of the most mysterious and influential figures in psychedelic history, a uranium magnate, CIA-associated psychedelic psychotherapist. For the first time a book has been dedicated to Hubbard's life, I speak with the author Brad Holden about his research.

Have you ever visited Dayman Island? Would be an interesting expedition, even just out of curiosity.

What's the name of the book written by the guy who took large doses of LSD ? "Wisdom of ..." by Tom Brandon?

Interesting idea, although I was told it was to do with very small amounts of radiation that is present everywhere.

I understand the atmospheric power generator. Any undergrad in physics that has taken electrostatics absolutely already understands it. Basically there is a potential difference as you move up in the sky. Potential difference is measured in Volts. So I guess you could also say there is a voltage gradient between the ground and as you move up into the sky. Anyways, if you run a very long cooper wire and ground it, a very very very small current can be harnessed. Enough to power a car? I doubt that... I mean you might have a like a 2 kilometer wire maybe..... However, I can absolutely see People in 1919 thinking they could use this tech with correct engineering to produce great deal of energy to do work. I'd have to run the equation on the back of a napkin to get a better idea of the numbers. But without a doubt you can make this. It is really just static electricity. BTW I am a classically trained physicist. Its not kooky, it is real, it just isn't powerful enough source of power generation..... thus, we don't see it around. I can imagine lightening being a huge problem with this tech.
