PODCAST 20: Dr. Etienne Van Zyl, Project Coast, and Methaqualone
Added 2021-05-24 23:19:05 +0000 UTCA long discussion with forensic chemist Dr. Etienne Van Zyl about the chemistry of methaqualone and the potential weaponization of psychoactive drugs by the apartheid government. Some of the attached literature is fascinating and worth a read, especially the book "Secrets and Lies" which is the most authoritative text on the crimes of Project Coast.

For those of us who still can’t resist the sensationalism of strange bed fellows like the government and drug traffickers, Seeds of Terror is a very timely book on the subject as it deals with the opium trade in Afghanistan.

2021-06-03 07:18:32 +0000 UTCIf it was an organized program to create a depressant addicted population from nothing, as opposed to a convenient side-effect of illicit fund-raising, it would really only be notable in its directness. No shortage of examples of addiction and other blights being allowed or even encouraged to run rampant. I see your healthcare disparities and raise you the education system! It's all woven in so thoroughly it's hard to say where the line falls between negligence and oppression.
