Your conversation got me thinking...is this all a metaphor for human consumption and greed?The metaphor being that the titans are human greed incarnate; they devour us and everything we love while simultaneously holding us captive. Greed takes and takes and creates nothing, just vomits all its consumption back into the world as useless piles of garbage that brought no happiness and created no value.

Is this how it looks on Crunchyroll (because the original is slightly different)? EDIT: Nvm, read a comment below explaining it, I guess it's a Crunchyroll thing for this episode.
