Update

I've been handling a lot of background tasks, but didn't want to leave you guys in the dark for much longer, so here's a breakdown of what I've been working on and what's coming soon:

Forever Winter video: Paused while I reworked the script to be more interesting. It's in a better spot now, and I'll return to it as soon as the current project is finished.

New Helldivers video: I initially planned to just make a quick short in the style of that Democratized Charger thing, but it ha...

Minor Update

Hey guys, this is just a quick heads up that I've got another process timelapse on the way, but it may take slightly longer than usual.

The reason for that is I'm now working directly with a game studio, and that's eating up a lot of my time.

I look forward to showing you guys what I've been working on once it's no longer under NDA.

Until then, I'll keep you posted on what I can. Peace.

Those guys are no joke in CQC.

Project Complete!

The animation work for the next video is done. I will be editing it for the next day or two and will post as soon as it's ready.

Moradesh Evacuation Incident

This was a test to see how quickly I could finish a relatively simple project. It did balloon a little from the original script, but even so I managed to wrap it up in about five days.

I should be able to put out a short video like this every week or so, without affecting the cadence of bigger projects all that much. It's worth a shot, we'll see how it goes.

Next Video Poll

I know I said I'd be working on the Illuminate melee finishers next, but I wanted to get your feedback on it first.

Option 1: Illuminate melee finishers, similar to the previous videos in that series.

Option 2: A more cinematic fight scene between some Helldivers and the Illuminate.

WHAT ABOUT THE SAMPLES!?

Those samples are to die for.

Next up: Illuminate Melee Finishers. With proper weapons this time.

Project Complete!

No timelapse just yet, all my focus is going to be on VFX/SFX for the next day or so. It might take until tomorrow to wrap it up, but I'll post the video as soon as it's ready.

More soon, peace.

Some emotes, I guess

Done and dusted.

No more excuses, it's time to get back to the real project. The timelapses will pick up again in 2025.

On that note, happy near year. Peace.

Background Image 7

Last one! My buddy's project is complete, so I'll be making all of these public now. Here's the link to the video: https://youtu.be/GlG5NdzJNHY?si=safugElPGfV4xShl

He did his best to unsloppify the AI with on-screen lyrics, some sound effects added in post, and of course the background renders. In the future he told me he'd like to hire actual vocalists and composers to make more authored content, w...

You would not believe just how legendarily scuffed the civilian models are.

Just one left to go after this.

Background Image 5

I'm not as happy with this one as the others, but I need to work on the animation some more, so it'll have to do.

Another one done. Three more to go.

3 down, 5 to go.

Background Image 1

A buddy of mine wrote a bunch of songs and ran them through Suno to create an album. He asked if I could make some background images for him, and I agreed. Here's the first one.

There will be ~8 in total, and I'll be releasing them all for free once his project is finished, since they can double as wallpapers.

I'll still be working on the animation as well.

I'll be gone for 2 days

This is just a heads up. I've got some personal business to which I must attend.

SEAF Specialist Models

These two should be ready for animation/posing, not sure what's involved with modding but they'll probably work for that too. The two with cloth physics are still under construction, I'll upload them when I can.

Feel free to share, edit, or generally do whatever you want with these.

The heavy's visor is controlled with a shape key, as is the charge indicator on his jet pack. Textures should be packed. Weapons not included.

EDIT: Updated with the default SEAF soldier. ...

Brasch wallpaper

I've gotten a couple requests for this. Luckily, I still had the file laying around and was able to render this from scratch without having to deal with YouTube's compression.

Happy Liberty Day.

All done. This one's more of a skinning test than anything, but I have bigger plans for these models in the future. This one has fewer typos than the YouTube version, because I'm allowed to reupload here.

Feedback poll

All of my work will likely contain a mixture of these elements, but which one would you prefer to be the focus? The exact balance will of course vary video-to-video, but I'm interested in knowing your preferences.

Side note, I'm currently working on assembling some new characters -- if you liked the first part of the General Brasch video, you'll probably appreciate these. I expect to have them all done by tomorrow.

Next project started.

First off, welcome to all the new people. I'm still a little stunlocked by how well that last video did, but I'll try my best to follow up on it. Nothing pretty to show just yet, but I can cover the gist of what I'll be working on.

For this month, I decided to make some shorter form content that can be stitched together into a full-length video later on. To do that, I'll be making a series of brief Smash Bros-style introductions for various Helldiver stereotypes, like the sample addict,...

Lore-Accurate General Brasch

I finally got this one wrapped up, and pulled an all-nighter to do it. I set it to go live on YouTube later today, now I'm gonna go get some sleep.

HOLEJUMPER: Helldivers 2 Short

As promised, here's the new video. Just a short one this time.

It definitely echos the pacing of the pervious project, I think I'll try something a little different next. Potentially involving General Brasch and some of his lore-accurate exploits. Should be fun.

The last part of the timelapse will be out tomorrow, and I'll update you guys as soon as the next project is underway.

Rock and stone.

The editing stage is half done.

This is a work-in-progress render, you can tell because half the video doesn't have sound yet.

I've been experimenting with the SFX throughout this project - not 100% satisfied with the first couple shots (I think they sound too busy), but the first devastator clip sounds pretty solid.

I actually went in and recorded some sounds from the game that were missing from my folder (gunshots, exertion grunts, etc.), which definitely helps fill out some of the moments that were weirdly ...

New End Card + Video Update

I hadn't touched Blender's text tools yet, so this was a good opportunity to learn. Apparently you can get even more control using geometry nodes, but the basic tools were all I needed here.

I'll likely iterate on this with each video, plus adding any new members to the list. I'd like it to be satisfying and cool to watch/listen to, rather than just a boring text crawl.

As for actual content, the animation work for the next video is completely done - everything is rendered and rea...

~90% Finished

I've got all but one of the larger bot finishers rendered out and ready for sound. This last one still needs some effects and polish here and there. Worth noting; I animated myself into a corner with the camera positioning. You can see how I had to warp the Strider model to accommodate that. Definitely something I'll be mindful of in future projects. As always, a lot was learned.

I'll wrap up tomorrow and move on to animating the new end card, which should be a lot more interesting than...
