Pokemonth 3 - The Contest

( the timing of the posts got a little delayed because of issues with my computer, so pokemonth will continue through the beginning of May.  )

There's not much time until the contest, you decide to enter Blastoise and you two try on accessories while you prepare some poffins and pokecubes

and so you try a lot of different styles, firstly making him a tough badass

then a soft old man...

then something more dapper...

then something silly to see if something sticks...

admittedly, fashion is not your forte.. you don't want the outfit to take attention away from your pokemon or his performance either, so you go for something simple... but that will leave an impression:

a bow-tie, just to add to his natural beauty.

the buzzer rings and all contestants are to go to the stage, you quickly give him all the cubes and poffins you made and Blastoise happily eats it all in a single bite as he heads into the stage.

and so it begins.

as soon as the curtains rise the people are stunned by Blastoise, either by his size or his outfit, and he does get quite a bit of positive reaction from the public.

then comes the dancing round, at his weight, Blastoise has a lot of difficulty keeping up with the dance, however, with the entire stadium shaking with every of his moves his opponents were thrown off and no one performed excepcionally well.

after all that shaking, blastoise seems a little off...

he's sweating and has a pained expression at times, you want to help him, but before you can say anything, it's time for the last round, where trainers show off their moves to the judges.

You tell Blastoise to do an Aqua Tail, he doesn't hear you at first, you see him grabing his belly and squinting his eyes

with the stares of the judges on you, you feel a little nervous. he realizes it's his turn and looks at you... you signal to him if he wants to give up, and he replies with a no.

so, a little worried, you tell him again to do an Aqua Tail and this time he obliges, albeit with some effort, struggling to throw around his massive figure.

The Judges are impressed he was able to do pull it off, it was criticized for being too slow but still got okay-ish marks because of how hard it hits. Blastoise is visibly disappointed.

the other pokémon are aceing this, he'll need a miracle to win at this rate.

this is the last turn, all the other pokemon perform their moves once again while Blastoise is hunched over, sweating coldly backstage.

as his turns gets closer, you hear a gurgling sound... it starts very faint, but loud enough so you can hear it through the cheers of the crowd and the loud music and noises...

it gets louder and louder, when it's finally Blastoise's turn, it became like a roar, loud enough to drown out almost every other sound in all of the stadium. it's coming from him, but he still wants to participate.

You breathe deeply and get ready to shout his instructions for the last move while you try to think of what move will show off his figure best. 

finally you let it out

"Blastoise use----" you lift your arms in surprise as you are interrupted by one last gurgle from Blastoise's stomach, so loud it silenced the whole stadium.

it finally happen, all those poffins and cubes finally take effect, Blastoise's body expands like an explosion happened inside of him, his folds grow deeper, thicker and softer, his fat rolls pushing against each other as they rapidly expand.

with his arms pushed up by his massive, yet growing, chest he stands in a pose as if saying "Ta-daah!".

his fat cheeks squeezing against his muzzle, his smile barely visible in his tightly squished face.

it's over in a flash and Blastoise's new massive frame is proudly wobbling and sloshing in front of hundreds of thousands of people ( this is broadcast on tv after all )

everyone is awestruck, the crowd, the judges and even the other pokemon and trainers.

suddenly the roar of the audience cheers break the silence, the judges then all commend you on the suspenseful and creative presentation, it seems they are all intrigued by it.

Blastoise struck a big proud squishy smile for his finishing close up, the camera crew having to climb up his belly to film it.

Weeks later, experts are still debating on TV their different theories on what happened, trying to figure out if it was a new move or an illusion that won that contest.
