Rocky Poem Audio + Animatic
Added 2026-01-10 02:45:16 +0000 UTCI shared Rocky's poem "Solid Ground" a short while ago and mentioned a recorded version. Here it is, with the storyboard animatic attached!
This has all since been replaced by a very different sequence, as stated before, but we put a fair bit of work into it before reworking the episode, so I thought I'd share!

It not only sets the tone and establishes one of the story's main narrative throughlines, but also ties part of the core cast together in a way that simultaneously characterizes each of them by juxtaposing their visual cutaways with relevant lines of the poem. It's honestly both beautiful and efficient storytelling, where every single shot is meaningful on its own, and even more so as part of the sequence as a whole. Truly incredible work. I can't wait to see the final version, either.

And how it shows Rocky is aware of both his and those around him situation. The direction was really fun too! And wonderful animation and art as always. Again phenomenal work!
