Ida Update
Added 2021-08-31 16:28:49 +0000 UTCHello. I just wanted to take a minute to update you all on what's going on. As many of you may know (if you live in the U.S.A.) Hurricane Ida rolled through the south eastern coast of the US. It destroyed a ton of homes, vehicles, trapped many people for weeks without food (projected by clean up crews--and after seeing the photos I believe it), water or power and caused massive flooding.
My family and myself were quite lucky. While we didn't sustain damage to our home, property or lives, we are currently without power in 90 degree weather. Still, compared to many , we are in luxury.
We have a roof over our heads, running water , food and hopefully soon the lights will return. Just 20-30 minutes down the road people are not so lucky.
I even have a few family members trapped in their homes (but safe as far as we know). I won't lie, in many, many places it's pretty bad. Lives have been lost, disrupted and it's difficult to say when normalcy will return for many people.
I'm currently in town borrowing wifi to relay this message, but you all will be first to know when power returns for us. If you know someone who lives in an affected area, please check up on them if you can. It's pretty serious this time around.
