Space Journey X - Dev-Log 16th Nov - Progress V1.20

Hi,

today I completed integration of the Main Quest in Quthor System. Belit the Pirate Queen helps you with your Precursor Conundrum if you do her a favour....

As a further bonus this gives those players who do not have it yet the chance to purchase a single Nova Disruptor at a price in her shop of "found" wares and cargo...

Still a bit behind on integration due to some IRL stuff, but overall Release Plan should not be delayed more than two days at max (BETA 22nd, VIP 27th, ...).

Still need to do Galaxina and set up one more NSFW animation and tie them in.

That is a good solution for those who want a challenge and for those irrevocable decisions. It does add spice to play, although I am not one of them. The reroll/back button as well as the previous load are decidedly my friends and gaming style. It is fantastic that you're willing to accommodate both people like me as well as Rou Bira. Something for everyone letting all enjoy this amazing game.

Sorry, I had to touch up my reply a few times because I kept hitting enter when trying to split the paragraphs. I absolutely do agree with locking out crate rerolling, but if I can offer another suggestion, why not also give us a 'search' feature for bot parts? Let us specify what specific attribute we want to find and increase the time duration/cost of the search for the part? It'd also be a bit more of an investment game rather than a gacha game that way, too. Spend money to make money by optimizing your bots, but it's heavy enough on the cost to do so that you might be better off rolling for them naturally or going for 'good enough'. I mention it because I made a bot worth somewhere in the range of 30-50 million, but I was probably sitting there just rerolling crates for the better part of an hour or two to accomplish it. I'd prefer just earning money and playing the game while still able to accomplish the same goal.

That is a good point. I might bring back the easy / hard settings for the game in v1.30. Hard means such decisions are not revertable, no rerolling at crates and mining, etc...

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually liked the fact that you could miss the Nova disruptor. Adding finality to decisions part way through the game, especially in terms of equipment like this was really interesting to me. For reference, I actually made a split save my first time through and then did the mission both ways. It wasn't until a few hours after the fact that I realized I could take the deal the first time through, locking off the 'best' path, but then pass that equipment over to myself in another playthrough. It might not be a serious issue considering the system that allows you to start at various points of the game rather than from the beginning every time, but I like the idea of certain things having branching paths that block you out until you restart. Adds replay value in my books. Kinda like the grade system in the "Tales of" series where the harder you work at the start, the more fun it is being overpowered in the subsequent playthroughs because of your efforts. In a game with some grind like this, it's satisfying knowing the choices I've made and the time I spent can help me be overpowered on my own merits. Honestly, I think it might be interesting/fun to lock the overpowered equipment behind different outcomes. Best shield, best weapon, best engines, best cargo compressor... I can, for example, imagine a scenario where you're given a choice of whether to receive a unique and powerful bot upgrade, or a powerful shield, or an NSFW scene. Maybe an advanced ship was attacked by the swarm, but it was a pyrrhic victory and the advanced engines are about to condense into a localized black hole destroying everything in the vicinity. You only have time to either steal a piece of equipment from the cargo and give up saving the people/hot girl on board, or save the girl for the scene and forego the better equipment, (and maybe a reduction of certain enemy appearances or higher trade rewards or something if she was important.) I'd be incentivized to take the equipment the first two times and then return for a third run to get the rewards on the current playthrough after, considering that event 'cleared'. If the reward only applies to the current playthrough as well, there is meaning in going through it instead of skipping over it everytime, too.

My best way to obtain money is reselling Subsys from Pirate Base to Illtari Station. I spend several days buying until cargo is full. ๐Ÿค”
