In the pale hush of dawn, as tendrils of mist clung to the earth, we stepped into the forest’s edge. At first, the twilight air dulled our senses, lulling us into uneasy calm—until the realization struck with sudden terror: the forest itself was shifting. And from that living shadow, they emerged.

A cavalry unit mounted upon deer emerged before us—a vision that might have seemed a peaceful reprieve from battle, were it not for the scepters they carried. With those enchanted rods, they swept the field clean, hurling forth searing beams of energy that carved a path of death through all in their way.
