The re-coding has begun!
Added 2015-05-19 08:09:52 +0000 UTCSpent the day re-writing some of the code that lets the Character Editor load characters from XML file instead of an internal database (the way the characters currently work). Loading from external XML files means much more flexibility and will also lead the way for sharing created characters later on. That way anyone who doesn't have the Character Editor itself will still be able to load characters that other people make. Using a simple XML file format also means easy editing of character traits, etc. for modding. We want to open up more and more of the game as we move forward, and this will be one big step towards that. :)
