[Commission] Strolling at the Lake

Okay a bit of a stuttered move toward the completion but we got there. Should be in a good pace for the next pic though ^^;

We have yet another commission from the latest opening done this time, and it's another one ordered by heavycube4u/sennsuifuku_nepu on Pixiv/Twitter (or X, if you prefer so, but it's still basically Twitter, come on :v) Which, if you know the person well you probably guessed who will be featured in the pic. Yup, it's Neptune from the Role-Playing Game franchise Hyperdimension Neptunia by Compile Heart and Idea Factory! And, this is her first appearance in my gallery as a scuba diver, she has been in space and clad in spacesuits in my previous take on her, so quite a refresher, clad in a Full-face Mask setup and a Drysuit, she is taken around by the commissioner's other favorite character, Nitori Kawashiro from a from Bullet-hell Shoot-'em-up game series Touhou Project by Team Shanghai Alice with popular titles available for NEC PC-9800 and Microsoft Windows, around a lake that supposedly, is her home village! Yup, by this pic you may assume that she is just one of those freedivers but actually, according to the Touhou's lore, in addition to being an experienced craftswoman, she is a Kappa, a Japanese mythological swamp monster. So I figured out the freshwater setting and having Neptune in drysuit would fit better for this scenario :D

Although that is not without some inspiration seeking process and got-stuck at the moment, so let's talk about the process. I mostly described the first half of the process on the WIP post if it right here (make sure you're in Parfait or Popsicle tier), and after I got both poses shaded, here's what kind of set me back. You see, this is my first time doing a freshwater scene, a bottom of a lake specifically, and the references in form of artworks of lake dives are rather lacking since most people would just draw scuba divers diving into the ocean. So this could be inaccurate, but after all the real photos references that I got I assume that lakes always have a drowned tree underneath so that's what I am going with, and at that point the fact that it's underwater hasn''t shown yet so I tried to make one look as underwater as possible, adding algae around the tree and rocks, adding a kelp that might be inaccurate for this, adding a bridge, and of course, a freshwater carps distant and close. Speaking of the bridge, it's inspired by two real-life freshwater diving sites, namely the flooded Recanto Ecologico Rio da Prata in Brazil and the Green Lake at Austria (which is part of the thought that there are drowned trees on lakes). Especially the former. I think it would ft well to the story if anyone considered making a fic based on it. :D. The rest, well, I thought of adding some more, it still looked too minimalistic but then looking at the pic again It kind of already fully loaded so, here you go ^^;

Overall, a nice result we have here. Neptune looks so good in that drysuit fully geared up X3
